“Working with Karen is pretty much dummy proof. I don't have to think about location, what to wear, hair, makeup or even what to do with the photos afterwards. She does it all for you. I think that's what makes me a repeat customer. Karen captures the essence of your family and child and does it without you really having to do anything. And that is what makes someone good at their craft.”

What to Expect at Reflections

I'm not just your professional newborn photographer; I'm also a mom of four kids. It's crucial for me to make your newborn photography session extra special.

I take care of everything, from hair and makeup for you to wardrobe for the whole family. You can relax while I capture the real connections, genuine love, and authentic family bond with your newborn.

After the session, return to the studio for your image reveal (Baby is, of course, welcome to come along, too). Choose your favourites, and leave the rest to me. I'll design, order, and install your portrait artwork.

Newborn sessions usually take place two weeks after birth. Clients typically book maternity and newborn sessions once they enter their second trimester.

  • While scheduling your newborn session within the first two weeks after birth is ideal, I understand that life doesn’t always go according to plan. Babies are adorable at any age. Your baby may be more awake and show more personality in their images, and that’s totally ok. If I am available, I’m more than happy to accommodate last-minute bookings or babies arriving earlier or later than expected. Just reach out to discuss your options, and we’ll find a solution that works for you and your baby.

  • To ensure a smooth and enjoyable session, there are a few things you can do to prepare. If your baby is breastfed, I advise new moms to avoid spicy, acidic, or gassy foods for 24 hours before the session to help keep them comfortable. Try to keep your baby awake for as long as possible before the session and have them ready for a big feed on arrival. Dress your baby in something easy to remove, and keep their diaper loose to avoid marks on their skin.
